IB Methodology: Primary Years Program (PYP)(Nursery to grade V)

Teaching MethodologyThe Primary Years Programme (PYP) is the official curriculum framework and teaching methodology of the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO). The curriculum framework consists of five essential elements: concepts, knowledge, skills, attitudes, and action. It is a transdiciplinary programme of international education designed to foster the development of the whole child. It emphasizes learning through active inquiry and aims to develop the whole child to meet certain competences and attitudes outlined in a Learner Profile. AT GDGWS our aim is to raise balanced and skilled children who would be responsible citizens. The student centered methodology explores various intelligences among students at individual levels by our qualified, dedicated and IB trained faculty. The student teacher ratio is 20 or less with a teacher and a co-teacher. Students work in small and ever changing groups which help them sharpen their natural talents and interests. Subject specialists teach Hindi, French, German, Spanish, Music, Art, Information Technology, Information literacy and PE with availability of wide range of co-curricular activities.

Teaching MethodologyThe Learner Profile provides a long-term vision of education. It is a set of ideals that can inspire, motivate and focus the work of schools and teachers, uniting them in a common purpose. Students are given opportunities to develop the following values of the Learning Profile: Inquirers, Knowledgeable, thinkers, Communicators, Principled, Open-minded, caring, risk-takers, Balanced and Reflective.
