On the 16th of November, 2016 our Grade 12 students ranging from various streams participated for the First Round of the Inter-School Poster Design Competition organized by G.D Goenka World Institute/Lancaster University.
There were four home teams comprising of 3-4 participants. The pupils had to select topics based on Global Warming, Sustainability, International Education, E-world and Natural Resources Depletion. Our students with great enthusiasm came up with innovative ideas. In two hours of intensive brainstorming the pupils executed interesting posters in the Senior Art Room. At the end of the day, Sundaram Kumar, Eva Bansal and Cassia Phuleshe attained the Second Position and Soyeon Jung, Gabriella Secere , Tanya Gupta and Arshia Garg were placed in the First Position.
On the 17th of November, 2016 the above mentioned students had to represent the school at the World institute for the Second Round. There the pupils were expected to communicate their creative endeavor and their thoughts behind the topics selected for the competition. It was encouraging to observe that our students spoke eloquently with clarity and conviction.
It was indeed a pleasure to see the excitement when the final result was announced and our school was placed third overall among eight teams from various parts of Gurugram and Delhi. The pupils were awarded certificates and Gift Vouchers from Amazon.
To conclude, events like this one help our students to gain in self-confidence and also enable them to interact with other schools through creative means.
