The Goenkans participated in one of the most prestigious MUN conferences in the world – Harvard Model United Nations conference 2013, held in Hyderabad. 140 schools and about 2000 delegates from all over the world participated in this event. The school delegation of 8 IB students represented the country of Bangladesh. Surya Pahal in SPECPOL, Suryatej Chinni in Special Summit on Oil, Shivanshu Gupta and Akash Mattoo in SOCHUM, Zuber Singh and TejaRayapureddy in DISEC, and Srivattsan Ramesh in COSW and Salute Jingkaojaiin WHO,left a lasting impression through their intensive research and novel solutions.
All the committees dealt with issues of global importance and greatly increased the students’ knowledge and understanding of these situations. Not only did the delegates interact with other internationalmembers, they also participated in social events organized by HMUN.
The students came back home with threespecial mentions, and immense experience.
