Gemstones may be considered as valued pieces or symbol of opulence and luxury, however their rare quality is the one that amazes us all. The amazing features of the eccentric looking gemstones were brought across by a resource person from Gemology Institute of America (GIA) at Mumbai. She vividly explained the unique qualities of stones like diamonds, rubies, opals etc , enhancing Goenkan student’s knowledge even further. Her erudition in gemology was commendable, every banal or curious questions asked by our students were very well answered. Her comprehensive presentation of gemstones gave every student a new perspective on stones. Not only the science students were engaged in this seminar but also the commerce ones. explained the marketing aspects of gemology with also the scientific aspects. This seminar was not only an eye opener, informative session on jewels but it also added a new job field in every student’s list that are willing to pursue in designing or marketing or even science!
