As an extension and reinforcement of class work home-work/prep is designed to encourage:
HOMEWORK/PREP MAY BE SET IN A VARIETY OF WAYS:
Since part of the homework is done in school, it ensures children have time to play and enjoy recreation-time, both in the boarding-houses and at home.
Each student has a school almanac. Parents of the Day-boarders should not merely sign it but, more importantly, keep abreast of the work set by teachers. Parents / guardians of full-time boarders are encouraged to keep in touch with programme coordinators, faculty and house staff to ensure they get regular and timely feedback regarding their wards.
PARENTS OF DAY-BOARDERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO ASSIST THEIR CHILDREN IN THE FOLLOWING WAYS:
HOMEWORK / PREP PER PROGRAMME:
Internal examinations provide an invaluable opportunity to prepare students for the IGCSE/ IB examinations and GDGWS is dedicated to the task of making this preparation as effective and realistic as possible.
The purpose of assessment is to transmit structured information about the student’s progress to the student, the teacher and the parents.
GDGWS evaluates students’ work in a variety of ways, including continuous assessment, course work and examinations.
A student who fails to pass a Grade twice in three years will not be permitted to continue his /her education at GDGWS.
The GDGWS reporting system is designed to provide this information on a regular and systematic basis. We are also committed to informing parents immediately, if problems arise.
PARK AND RIDE POLICY
The location for student drop-off/pickup is the “Park and Ride” designated area and falls between 6:00am-8:00am in the morning and 3:00-4:30pm in the afternoon.
The “Park and Ride” zone is usually on the street outside your residence for morning pickup and in front of the main school building in the afternoon.
For parents who pick up their children please park in the areas designated for pick up and drop.

VISITOR PARKING GUIDELINES
Visitor Parking may only be used for specific appointments with school Administrators or teachers between the hours of school.
Parents picking up students following athletic practices or after school activities may park in designated parking spaces, if space is available. Parking is not permitted in front of the school gate.
The Parental Consent Form enables the school to make informed decisions on behalf of the student.
As part of the Parental Consent Form, parents are requested to give permission to their wards to join school-organised trips within and outside Haryana. Since the student’s safety is our foremost concern students will always be chaperoned by members of the teaching and boarding-staff. However, the school cannot be held responsible for any injury caused due to any accident during school trips, adventure activities, excursions, field visits etc. on or outside the school campus.
The form will be provided by the School, when required.
VISA REQUIREMENTS FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS:
Students up to Grade 5 are allowed to attend school in home clothes on their birthday, but they must be formally attired.
Permission will not be granted to any student to leave the school unaccompanied to attend birthday celebrations of their classmates or friend, nor will students be given access to the address and telephone numbers of any student in order to send an invitation.
Permission may be granted by the Principal on the written request of the parent or local guardian of the child concerned.
