Parent Partner Programme

Overview

“Education is a shared commitment between dedicated teachers, motivated students and enthusiastic parents with high expectations”

The significance of parental influence in children’s lives is indisputable and the importance of their involvement in children’s education cannot be overstated. Parents are the best advocates of students’ interests and their participation in each and every sphere of their children’s lives is of paramount importance in promoting their children’s holistic development. Research has shown that parent involvement in children’s education can improve students’ behavior, attendance, and achievement. Additionally, reciprocal positive interactions between families and schools contribute positively to a child’s socioemotional and cognitive development. Thus, any school which aims to promote students’ educational development must involve parents as partners in its endeavors.

At GD Goenka World school we recognize that parents are vital partners in education and that their involvement in children’s academic lives is critical to achieving our mutual goal of creating a school environment where students thrive, learn and grow. Our effective parent-school partnership provides a seamless extension of academic support to students even at home so as to ensure that children have every opportunity for success. Parental engagement in the decision-making processes at school serves as a two-way channel of communication and feedback thereby helping the school to address any needed improvements timely and ensuring the best possible educational experience for all stakeholders.
