There was Mathematical enigma all over the school from the 13th to the 18th of August 2012.
During the Middle School Assembly, the students were shown a video on a circle song, in which the area and circumference of the circle were highlighted. AnInterhouseMaths Quiz was organized and Cycas house was crowned the winner. In the end a trick to calculate square of a number in 10 seconds was also taught to the students.
The IGCSE assembly, conducted by Ms Shahnaz and Mr Vinod enjoyed the Puzzles consisting of regular and irregular polygons having pictures of their maths teachers. An informative presentation on the Irrational number pie was also conducted.
The last day of the Maths week was for the IBDP students. A very informative and entertaining presentation on optimizing the surface area of cans used for different drinks, using the concepts of derivatives was conducted which was related to their syllabus. There was anInter-house Quiz for IBDP students, which was really enjoyed by one and all and Sorbus house was declared the winner. The assembly ended with entertaining videos on Mathematical concepts.
