REPORT ON VISIT BY Ms. ELIZABETH LEE: AN AUTHOR, A RESEARCH SCHOLAR AND ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR AT QUEENS UNIVERSITY, CANADA, AT G.D. GOENKA WORLD SCHOOL

G.D.Goenka World School, Sohna organised an International Author visit to PYP library with great enthusiasm. Ms. Elizabeth Lee met around 15 students from PYP in the library on 2ndof February 2010.She discussed libraries as a resource used by students in schools of Canada.

Students of our school had an interactive discussion and had various questions pertaining to the books that the author wrote. Some of the questions asked by the Students were as following:

  • Types of books she wrote.
  • What was the toughest part of her job?
  • What was the toughest part of her job?
  • Who was her favorite Indian author?
  • How the students of Canada did the research work in their library?
  • Which was the longest book she had ever read?
  • Did her reading habits come by herself or from her Parents?


Ms. Elizabeth Lee, an Associate Professor at Queen’s University was pleased to answer questions of the young readers and inquired about the Information Literacy Project and which steps did they like the most. She was also keen to know about how children did their research work in the library.

Overall, it was an enriching experience for all students. They would remember this experience for their lifetime and prayed to have more such sessions and visits in future.
