The Goenkans MUN club attended the Model United Nations Conference in Delhi hosted by Georgetown University School of Foreign Services, Qatar from 22nd-24th July 2013. A total of 9 delegates represented our school at this conference and received wonderful feedback from various the various chairs and vice-chairs across the conference. Over 25 schools attended the conference
We had students from Grade 12, Grade 9 and Grade 11 representing the school with Zuber Singh as the Delegate of Hungary in the ECOSOC Committee, Ananya Vidyarthi as the Delegate of Pakistan in the ECOSOC Committee, Shivanshu Gupta as the Delegate of Hungary in the Human Rights Council, Zaigham Hameed Butt as the Delegate of Pakistan in the Human Rights Council, Saumay Kinra as the President of Pakistan in the Advisory Panel, Debayan Roy as the Delegate of Mauritania in the Arab League, Zubin Khosla as the Delegate of Pakistan in the SPECPOL Committee, Raaghav Goel as the Delegate of South Korea in the Human Rights Council, Tushar Kaistha as the Prime Minister of Hungary in the Advisory Panel and Abhinav Sharma as member of the Press Committee .
The delegate students performed outstandingly well, came back richer in experience and above all enjoyed being a part of the conference. The students of Grade 9 felt that the conference was very informative, they gained a wonderful experience by interacting with the various chairs, vice-chairs ,the international community and the diplomats of USA and England.
At the end of the 3 days conference , some of our delegates were congratulated by the Chairs as they were astonished to see the amount of knowledge and the quality of debate that they exhibited .The conference helped the students to boost their confidence significantly and they are looking forward to attending more conferences in the future, winning many awards and making the school proud.
