Our CAS Trip – A Student’s Perspective

admin News & Events

The CAS trip for our grade was a monumental 30km from school! But what lacked in distance was made up in enthusiasm and vigor. Staying at ‘Camp Wild’ in Dhauj was a fantastic experience, as were the adventure sports carried out. The adrenalin rush of rappelling down a cliff face or zip lining from a hill was a welcome change from the adrenalin rush of submitting your internals on the day of the deadline. Various team building activities undertaken helped the grade get closer as a unit and helped us bond on parameters other than complaining about the IB. This bond was further strengthened as we got to let loose on the dance floor to the mind boggling beats laid down by ‘DJ Badshahpur’. As the night winded down we sat around a bonfire and played games like dumb charade, a sobering end to an exciting day, exactly what we needed.

As water colder than the arctic was poured on my face I knew that it was the last few hours we had at ‘Camp Wild’ before heading back to school and our normal lives again, so to commemorate these last few hours of freedom we went for a trek. The rough terrain of the Aravali hills was a worthy opponent but it was conquered nonetheless with minimum fuss. Upon returning we freshened up, ate food and packed our bags. We spent the last hour doing absolutely nothing, something that hadn’t been done in a while. And as we said our goodbyes to a memorable CAS trip we knew that these were memories we could cherish forever.
