Summertime is pool time. With soaring temperatures, PYP students flocked to the swimming pool to cool off and to experience the best aqua time ever.
The structured games played in the pool surely lived up to any aqua holiday. As well, they helped to serve as fun ways to get more exercise and build team spirit. All games played were complimenting the theme, Ibiza Aqua Fun.
A total Ibiza look was given to the pool with beach signs posted all over the pool area in Catalan language, Ibiza information was available for the young PYP mermaids and mermen. Senior IAYP volunteers very happily took on the roles of the Ibiza beach life guards, tourist guides and assisted Mrs. Vijayashree, the teacher event organiser.
The most popular aqua games played were Ibiza whirlpool, rain in the sea, treasure quest, drip drop can, dolphins and sharks and many versions of relays. The teams were divided and differentiated by different colour bands tied on the wrists of each child.
After the water time the students were guided to the fitness centre for more activities and for tattoo making. All the students, teachers and the student volunteers made the best of the long hot summer day. The day was beautifully organised by the swimming coach and the sports department.
