Farewell of IBDP batch 2016

On 22nd May, the most awaited day by the seniors had finally arrived – the Farewell Dinner. The theme of the evening was “Tuqareb”, which meant fusion in Arabic. The hosts had planned an Indo-western evening filled with mesmerizing performances of singing and dancing.

It was wonderful to see the seniors in their elegant gowns and dashing suits, enter the beautifully decorated venue. The hosts were dressed in lehengas and kurtas to receive the guests. The Executive Director, Mr. Derek Mountford, along with the teachers also joined in to bid their goodbyes to the passing out Class of 2016.

The show began with the comperes introducing the evening with special dance and singing performance by the hosts. In between the performances, Mr. and Ms. Goenkan awards and the IB learner profile awards too were given away. The Mr. and Ms. Goenkan were won by Devvrat Raghav and Monica Sivasubramaniam. The IB Learner Profile Awards went to: Devvrat Raghav for the “Inquirer” and “Knowledgeable”, Shivam Agal for “Thinker”, Hamza Mubarak for “Communicator”, Dohyun Kim for “Principled”, Asia Yahya for “Open-Minded”, Monica Sivasubramaniam for “Caring”, Shraey Nagpal for “Risk-Taker”, Kavash Khanna for “Balanced” and Fatehjit Singh for “Reflective.”

Towards the end of the performances, the Class of 2016 sang “Give Me Some Sunshine” bringing back fond memories. Thereafter the dance floor was open for all to do their jig on their favorite numbers that the DJs were belting out. The food was great which began with mouth-watering starters and mocktails followed by dinner. All the seniors were given a memento which was a Goenkan mug filled with chocolates embellished with their tag line. It was an evening of entertainment, nostalgia and shared warmth – a truly memorable evening!
