PYP boys led by Kartikye Gupta participated in the Lancers International Cricket meet and won the tournament by winning both their league matches defeating formidable Pathways Noida and hosts Lancers International in the process.
Although it was a collective effort by everyone but there were some notable performances which deserve a mention.
Ismail scored 60 off 18 balls in the first match against Pathways puncturing the hopes of not just the opponents but also the other team watching from the sidelines. Riding on his swashbucking knock and cameos from Vansh Kataria and Deepanshu Dhankar we scored 95 in 8 overs. After that our bowlers led by Aryan Bhardwaj (2 wickets) made short work of rivals. Kartikye and Nakul Mittal were also fantatstic with the ball.
In the second match we bowled first and got Lancers put for a paltry 37. Kartikye Gupta took two wickets in consecutive balls which also included an excellent catch by Kaman Raj. Aryan and Nakul were once again in the wickets column taking 2 wickets each. A target of 38 was never going to be difficult for our boys and it was achieved without much sweat. On the whole a wonderful achievement for these young boys and I hope this would motivate them to bring greater laurels for the school.
