The Principal
Mrs. Sonali Sinha has dedicated over three decades to the field of education, with the last two decades serving as the head of several prestigious schools in India. A graduate of Lady Shri Ram College in Delhi, she holds a master’s degree in history, along with two bachelor’s degrees in history and education.
Commencing her career as the Head of the Computer Centre at DPS Mathura Road, Delhi, she later became a TGT in history at DPS Noida. There, she played a pivotal role in designing and establishing a computer lab in 1996, ensuring her students stayed ahead in embracing technology. Mrs. Sinha also co-authored computer courseware for schools in collaboration with NIIT. As the founding leader of a DPS in Lucknow, she successfully established and expanded the school over a decade. Additionally, she served as the Director at DPS Saharanpur and as the Head of School at The Kasiga School in Dehradun and The Universal School, Tardeo, Mumbai. Notably, she led The Universal School in Ghatkopar, Mumbai, an institution offering both the International Baccalaureate and IGCSE curricula, to remarkable success.
Throughout her distinguished career, Mrs. Sinha has received numerous accolades. She was recognised as one of the “Top Fifty Effective Principals of the Country” by Education Today in 2019 and 2021. She was honoured with the Fortune 50 “Future Fifty Leaders Shaping Success” award in 2019 and the prestigious “Uttarakhand Ratan” award in 2018. Recognised as an EduBeacon by GSLC for 2023–2024, she continues to inspire through her remarkable educational journey, following the privilege of receiving the GSLC Global Edu Icon Award for 2022–2023.
Most recently, GD Goenka World School, under her leadership, received India’s Top Prestigious School Jury Award 2024 at the Maharashtra Educators Summit & Maharashtra School Merit Awards 2024. Presented by Education Today, the award acknowledges the school’s quality leadership and exemplary contributions to the field of education.
Furthermore, Mrs. Sinha has spearheaded numerous international collaborations with institutions such as BelOrme School, France; Williamston School, Scotland; and Dedridge School, Scotland. Known for her collaborative and approachable leadership style, she fosters a culture of teamwork and open communication. She believes in empowering her staff and creating a positive work environment that nurtures professional growth and development. Committed to building a safe and inclusive school environment, Mrs. Sinha ensures that all students feel valued and supported.
