An interactive workshop on Communication and Leadership Skills was conducted on 28/9/12 for the IBDP students. The purpose of the session was to enable the students to identify the reasons behind their inhibitions and blocks in communication with their peers and elders. The concept of “Symptomatic Awkwardness “ was explained to the students by the resource person to help them understand their hidden strengths and weaknesses which in turn would enhance the unique personality traits inherent in each one of them. The “Mirror” and “So What” exercises were motivational and the students not only enjoyed them but also showed an active participation. Overall the workshop facilitated the students to explore their individual selves and develop leadership qualities. It was indeed a peek into recognizing the participant’s potential as leaders of the future!
The workshop was organized by the Counseling Head Mrs Ritu Dhingra. The resource person,Mrs Jyotsna Anand from Illuminminds and Coordinate Resources motivated the students in an eloquent manner. She is an experienced motivational speaker and has trained more than hundred students and teachers in Communication Skills and Personality Enhancement .
Comments from Students
Today we attended a session on self motivation and the least I can say is that it was interesting indeed. The techniques that we were taught are pretty workable and effective as well as simple. I really look forward to more workshops like these.

Today we attended a motivational workshop and through that we learnt about two interesting activities ”So what and Mirror Exercises”. It would really help me in my life if I could apply them in my daily routine. I sometimes get caught in silly problems they will now be handy for me to avoid getting into trouble. I learnt about my self image too today!
