MAGIC OF ALL TIME – THE CLASSIC ’ WIZARD OF OZ ‘ RECREATED BY STUDENTS THROUGH A MUSICAL
G.D Goenka World School, Sohna celebrated its Annual Day on the 16th of December at the ‘Showshaa’ auditorium in the Kingdom of Dreams, Gurugram .The Chief Guest on the occasion was Prof (Dr.) Shrihari, Vice Chancellor, G.D Goenka University. The occasion was also graced by Mrs Renu Goenka, Vice chairperson, G D Goenka Group and many other dignitories from G D Goenka fraternity.
The programme commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest , Vice Chair Person, Director-Principal and others accompanied by a melodious rendition of Ganesh Vandana.The School choir performed an inspirational song ‘Glorious’ composed by David Archuletta.The next musical event of this mystical evening was a riveting performance by the-loma students’School band ‘Strangers’. Next in line was an electrifying and sparkling performance by school’s solo Soprano Singer Sanjana, who sang the timeless classic ‘O Holy Night’ composed by Adolphe Adam in 1847.
The School’s Director-Principal, Dr.Neeta Bali crisply delivered the annual report highlighting the various accomplishments of the students and significant events during the academic year 2017-2018. She conveyed in her message that a school’s team of educators and students, are the school’s biggest asset and applauded their commitment and contribution towards excellence.
The audience awaited with bated breath the next event to unfold,which was a play inspired by the fantasy fiction-The Wizard of Oz. The young performers from ofCambridge CSSecondary 1 programme, set the stage abuzz with their histrionic skills ,sealing every frame on stage with their luminance.The function was very well attended by a large number of parents and hugely appreciated by all present.
