22 schools and more then 400 participants participated with admiring efficiency. The participants swam with excellent endurance and displayed exceptional talent. It was one of the most encouraging competition in the district of Gurgaon, as it was accompanied by National and State level swimmers.
GD Goenka World School won the overall trophy with 28 medals and 197 points. This was a moment of immense contentment for all the ‘Goenkan Swim Squad’ and was exhibited by a loud chorus of cheer. The trophy was given to the Goenkan swimming team by our Director-Principal, Dr. Neeta Bali.
The runner-up team was The Shri Ram School, Aravali, to whom the trophy was passed on as per the Goenkan tradition.
It was an exuberant and adrenaline pumping event, where age group under-13, under-11 and under-9 participated. There were 46 events in total with numerous heats. The best swimmer of each age group won a trophy in boys and girls categories respectively.
As any competition is not all about winning and losing, it is about participating with a positive spirit and making new records. This competition marked the hard work of swimmers and their devotion to swimming.
An event cannot be successful without it’s diligent volunteers and teachers, who have to be thanked for their remarkable approach towards the event.
