‘Baisakhi’ is a festival of spring, where you harvest the fruits of your hard work. Highly synonymous to the theme of the festival, our IB and IG students of GDGWS celebrated the occasion with fun, dance and a holy visit to the Sikh shrine, ‘Gurudwara’.
An inter-house dance competition was organized on 18th April, 2018 where students were dressed in traditional Punjabi attire and performed on several foot tapping conventional folk songs from the land of Punjab.
The judges for the competition were Shahnaz Ma’am, Hemlata Ma’am and Brijpal Sir who successfully announced the winners as below, after a tough thought out decision:
1st position – Sorbus House (281 points)
2nd position – Nyssa House (263 points)
3rd position – Cycas House (187 points)
4th position – Cedrus House (148 points)
Dr. Neeta Bali, our Director-Principal also addressed the students congratulating them on this thrilling afternoon and appreciated them for their well-displayed talent.
While everyone was left awestruck with the performances, overall, the festival was a celebration, accustoming each student to learn about a different culture and ethnicity.
