On 9th February, 2016, grade 8 was enlightened by the British Guest Authoress, Ms Linda Newbery. She writes for young adults and has so far penned 50 titles.
She interacted with great enthusiasm and replied to students’ questions. She spoke about her journey, from a budding writer and poet to a famous author. When she narrated the incident of her being unsuccessful and rejections of submissions to the publishers’ number of times, she sent a message to the students, ‘never give up on your dreams’.
Linda Newbery, a passionate writer indulged students in listening to an extract from her famous book ‘Set in Stone’ which aroused curiosity amongst all the students to read the novel. It was a wonderful experience for the pupils to be face to face with an international author.
