From the 13th to the 15th of December, 89 students from the Year – 2 of the IB Diploma Programme, along with 8 accompanying teachers went for an overnight trip to Dadhikar Fort, in Alwar. The students went in 2 batches, with 43 students going on the 13th and returning on the 14th and the remaining 46 students leaving for Alwar on the 14th and returning on the 15th.

The breath-taking view of the landscape on the way to Alwar had everyone buzzing in anticipation of what the trip would have in store for us. Upon arriving at the fort, our hopes were confirmed as we entered the gates and saw the magnificent towering structure of the Dadhikar Fort in front of us—its rustic architecture, a reflection of the truest form of Rajasthani culture and its rich heritage.

Over the course of the trip, we had quite a line-up of events in store for us, beginning with the trek: an 8 kilometre climb up unfamiliar rocky terrain, only to arrive at one of the most spectacular views of rock formations and landscapes; this was followed by a cultural evening that comprised of traditional Rajasthani folk dances intertwined with incredible displays of balancing acts and flame-spitting; and finally, to end the evening, a get-together near a bonfire.
