CLS students ongoing NEEV Reading Challenge participants attended the fifth NLF Reading Challenge 2021 Author Interaction with Ben Rothery, who is an UK author, and illustrator. He has created the book Hidden Planet: An Illustrator’s Love Letter to Planet Earth which was shortlisted for the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize 2020. The book, Hidden Planet, is a treat for students and teachers of visual arts, as well as those interested in life cycles, interconnectedness of life forms on Earth, and all the wonderful ways in which different animals and birds have adapted to living on the planet.The book presents not only a big-picture portrait of life forms on Earth, but also zooms into what happens below the fur and feathers of animals and birds. In his lively talk, Ben spoke about his artistic process and shared theinspirations behind his brilliant illustrations.
