PYP students at GD Goenka World School celebrated the International Mindedness Festival in the form of a cultural parade – a celebration of different country’s cultures. Students were given the agency to choose a nation and explore its culture and traditions. By enabling them to make this choice, the students felt empowered to make decisions and feel independent.
The celebration saw zealous participation from all stakeholders. The parents interacted with the students during presentations, and indulged in the regional cuisine.
This erudite event was the perfect way to respect and acknowledge the varied cultures of nations across the globe. The students were presented with an opportunity to work in tandem with peers from different regions, learn from each other, and accept different perspectives. They took away a lot from the table and developed quintessential qualities of empathy, compassion, and respect.
