This year an overnight field trip was planned for grade 4 and 5 students on 11th and 12th of October. The excitement and exhilaration was palpable right from the time the announcement was made. Parents also supported the trip in a big way by wholeheartedly sending their children on the trip. The trip started with the blessings of the rain god but luckily the weather was good and the children could accomplish all the outdoor activities that had been planned for them. The children reached the camp site and quickly settled in their cottages excited to be spending the night with their friends. The cottages were basic and gave the children a rustic feel which was a novelty for some of them.
After lunch the students set out for the various activities that had been pre planned for them .These were fun filled adventurous sports that a lot of students were venturing into for the first time. The Burma Bridge and commando net won the popular activity award hands down. In the evening a trek up the hill set the mood for some adventure, the students really enjoyed the uphill trek and each student completed it without a moment of complain.
Evening was the time for dance DJ and some desi music. The students danced to the beat of popular bollywood songs and retired to their cottages where they played, bonded and got to know their coordinator, teachers and classmates even better.
The next day all students were up for some bird watching followed by rappelling and flying fox. Most children were super excited as they were doing these activities for the first time. The trip ended and the children boarded the bus to head back home. It was a perfect trip and provided the children with lovely memories as well as educational moments.
