The Gandhi Jayanti celebrations were held in school on the 1st of October 2012. The assembly began with the lighting of a lamp ,commemorating Gandhiji’s birthday. This was followed by a prayer by the school choir, in the form of an ode to the Father of our nation.

Three students from the IB diploma programme, namely: Shubham Yadav, Arshia Wadhwa and Dhruv Tikekar—took the audience through three stages of Gandhi’s life, through the use of presentations. The first stage was handled by Shubham, who focused on Gandhi’s childhood; the second, by Dhruv who focused on Gandhi’s life in South Africa, as well as his civil rights movement; and the last stage, which was handled by Arshia, focused on Gandhi’s life in India and his struggle for independence.

This was followed by a collection of interviews that was put together, highlighting a few of our students’ perspectives on Gandhi, as a person, and everything he did for this nation.

The assembly was finally concluded with a short song by the choir, and a message by the school Principal,Mrs Neeta Bali.
