GD Goenka World School celebrated the 65th Independence Day of India, along with the Korean Independence Day, on the 14th of August, 2012. The school principal, Mrs. Neeta Bali, hoisted the National Flag. The hoisting of the flag was followed by the National Anthems of the respective nations and the releasing of the tricolour balloons.
The day’s events comprised of the patriotic songs by the students of PYP and Middle School, which set the audience in a very spirited andpatriotic mood. This was followed by a presentation on”How India can be a Superpower”.The ceremony was concluded by speeches and a trivia from the Principal Mrs Neeta Bali, and the Vice Principal,Mrs Neeru Sharma as they addressed the school on matters of national importance.
