Certificate of Recycling

Recycling paper preserves the environment. Reports reveal that recycling 1 ton of mixed paper can save the energy equivalent of 185 gallons of gasoline. Another statistic shows recycling the same amount of paper conserves 7,000 gallons of water, saves 17 trees and more than 3 cubic yards of landfill.

Paper is recoverable and recyclable resource which when reprocessed in a paper recycling mill produces “print and write quality” paper. Believing in recycling the IAYP (Duke of Edinburgh Award) participants of GDGWS organized a waste paper collection and segregation drive both in and outside the school and collected over 390 Kg of waste paper. This waste paper management and recycling initiative is in collaboration with the NGO- JAAGRUTI.

The collected waste paper was recycled with minimum consumption of water and electricity compared to paper produced from wood/virgin pulp and then was bleached using environment-friendly bleaching processes.  Jaagruti in return and to recognize the effort of the Goenkan IAYP team has got a certificate and around 300 spiral notebooks which the team would supply to the school staff and to the community school.
