ADAA (Apni Duniya Apna Ashiana), a NGO set up in Sohna by Captain Navin Gulia looks after all children requiring their aid regardless of them being orphaned, abandoned, or their parents being laborers, sex workers, or beggars.
The IAYP Silver participants of GDGWS for the year 2011 began working with ADAA in February looking towards helping the children in their daily activities, teaching them how to dance, aiding them with craft, and most importantly help them have fun. With the aid of Captain Gulia, the group has been able to garner progress on the development of a stage show by the kids, for the kids.
On the occasion of Holi, the children prepared individual cards and a large board to welcome visitors to their centre. Most of the boys at the centre have a keen interest in sports such as football and cricket, which has been further encouraged by the students of GDGWS.
ADAA is an organization, which aims for improving the life of the children in need and has brought out the best out of all of us. It has been a key turning point in most of our lives as we now realize the importance of education and simply the pleasure of bringing a smile to someone’s face.
