IGCSE students of G.D Goenka World School, Sohna, participated in an intra house quiz competition based on life and works of ‘William Shakespeare’ on 8th November, 2017. Two students from each house represented their house: Alina Mehta and Tanushree Kochar from Cedrus house; Sreejoni Roy and Vrakshita Kothari from Sorbus house; S.L. Madhumitha and Nidhi K.R from Nyssa house; Atufa Shubhnam and Jusjeev Singh from Cycus house. Vedansh Malhotra, emcee for the quiz, Aryan Kaushal, scorer and the student council members conducted the quiz successfully.
The quiz consisted of four rounds. First round was based on Shakespeare’s life, visual round was the second round , third round had some famous quotes from Shakespeare’s plays and the final round was the rapid fire round in which the participating teams had to write the names, of Tragedies written by him, in 30 seconds. After a neck to neck competition Cedrus house won the quiz by one point (30 points) from Sorbus (29 points). Nyssa was third with 19 points and Cycas was at the fourth position with 13 points.
Ms. Shahnaz Banoo Butt, HOP IGCSE, announced the results and appreciated the efforts of the organisers.The competition was a learning experience for the teams and the audience, who applauded at every correct answer.
