Peace cannot be kept by force. It can only be achieved by understanding–ALBERT EINSTEIN
Understanding peace is most relevant in today’s time of insecurity and interdependence than even before. Rajit Kinra, Paras Aggarwal, Paurush Bali, Yashwardhan Gupta, Surya Pahal and Zuber Singh IAYP participants along with the IAYP Coordinator-Mrs. Vijayashree Pahal attended the Inspired Leadership Conference to understand the relevance of peace to business and how each stakeholder of the society can play a role in bringing about a ‘Peaceful and Prosperous Asia’.
SOIL- The School of Inspired Leadership organized a two day Asia Conference at their Sohna campus to discuss the process which we tend to acquire peace and leadership. Spiritual and business leaders were invited to share their thoughts on peace along with some extraordinary citizens.
Encountering people such as H.N Srinivasan, vice-president of one of the most widely known hotel chains in the world, Taj provided an insight into 26/11 and highlighted how leaders can arise from multiple situations. Another individual who ‘inspired leadership’ was Nandini Vaidyanathan, a former corporate who now mentors women into setting up their own enterprises shared stories of Afghani women who now sell handmade burkhas. These stories were inspiration to the audience as it showed how anything and everything was possible.
A particularly new discovery was that of ‘Open Minds-Open Space’ where the audience was allowed to put up agendas close to their heart and discuss them in smaller groups. This discussion and sharing of ideas culminated with all six Goenkan participants picking up a lot of new learning points from themselves.
On the second day, this process was repeated for future projects where four of our participants volunteered for a NGO known as Navjyoti while two of them joined hands to set up a ‘Positive news’ internet broadcasting channel.
