Rotary is a global network of 2 million neighbours, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change – across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves. Interact clubs bring together young people from ages 12-18 to develop leadership skills while discovering the power of Service Above Self. GD Goenka recently had their installation ceremony on the 9th of February, 2018 and is now in active participation with Rotary.
The function was graced by esteemed Rotarians, themselves. Rtn. Nischal Dubey, Rtn. Carla Moschetta, Rtn Diwan Singh, Rtn Aditya Gupta and Rtn Ranjit Chauhan. The ceremony started with an awe-inspiring opera performance by Sanjana of Grade 11, followed by an enlightening Nukkad Naatak (Street play) on human rights and the Constitution of India by the students of Grade 9.
Darsh Jain, the President of the Interact Club, and Aaryaman Hoskote, the Vice-President, then briefed the present gathering about the initiated projects as well as the future plans that the GD Goenka Interact Club will follow through.
There was a heart-felt rendition of the song “Imagine” by Gamini Khurana of Grade 11 followed by a phenomenal dance performance by the students of IG on the song “Rang De Basanti”. The ceremony ended with the pinning of the badges and a vote of thanks proposed by our Director-Principal, Dr. Neeta Bali.
