“Spelling is important because it aids in reading. It helps cement the connection that is shared between sounds and letters.”
An Inter-House Spell Bee Competition was organized on 21th February 2017 in the school Assembly Hall, for grade 7. This competition was one of the numerous enjoyable competitions that give students a platform to learn spellings in different ways. This competition helps students improve their spellings, increase their vocabulary, learn concepts, and develop the use of correct English.
Children participated earnestly in the competition. Their efforts and initiative was appreciated by one and all.
From every House there were two participants. The first runner up of the competition was Cedrus, and the winner was Cycus house.
The result of the competition is as follows:
- First Round: ‘Spell the word’
- Second Round :’Picture round’
- Third Round: ‘Pronunciation’.
- Fourth Round: ‘Jumbled words’

The programme was coordinated by Ms. Priya Mahendru and ably judged by Ms. Geetanjali Yadav, both of the English Department. The event was flawlessly conducted by students of Grade 6B -Nikita Marwah, Sarah Damia Zakaria,Eeshaja Swami and Suhana Garg.The time keeper was Sujal Dewan and the tabulators were Alisha Karwasra and Kashvi Kathuria while the slide changer was Vanshika Soni.
