G.D. Goenka World School, Sohna celebrated Math Week from 12th to 16th of August 2013. The students and staff participated with great enthusiasm and made it a grand success.A lot of activities relating to the subject were conducted throughout the week, hence arousing students’s interest in Math and making them aware of its importance in all walks of life.
The following activities were conducted:
PYP: A Quiz was conducted and shortcut techniques of multiplication discussed by the means of some videos.
MSP: Another Quiz Conducted and shortcut techniques of finding squares of numbers discussed by the means of some videos.
IGCSE: A Math puzzle conducted . The students found the puzzle very mind boggling and interesting.
IB-DP: IB-DP students conducted a campaign on " Math Invented or discovered ‘. They got about 400 comments from students and staff . YashVerdhan Surkha and Subham Sharma of IB year 2 showed a PPT on Environment and Math. By this PPT they explained how Environment can be saved using Math Concepts. The PPT was very innovative and informative. It earned a lot of appreciation from all.
The Math Week ended with a positive note when the Principal appreciated the efforts put in by the students and the Math teachers under the guidance of the HOD Mr. Vinod Arora.
