Martin Luther King once said “The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character – that is the goal of true education.” As parents, we took a very tough decision which was to move Ria, our elder daughter from the CBSE board to GDGWS’s IGCSE/IB board in 2018. She was going well academically, but we felt the personality and character building were missing. Over the years, we observed Ria flourish both academically and ‘extracurricularly’ – with the right balance of culture and values. She has become more confident and has attained good leadership, interpersonal and public-speaking skills. GDGWS provides the right environment for students to flourish as it not only provides great mentorship through the teachers but also provides a platform to build life skills via programs like CAS, research-based projects, and self-reflection (TOK). In 2020, we were excited to move our younger daughter Anya to the school as well (9th grade) with certainty that she will flourish too. We send our gratitude and best wishes to principal Mrs. Neeta Bali and her team for doing excellent work for our children.
