We work hard to be a supportive community, committed to raising children who are respectful, inquisitive, unbiased and free thinkers. To that effect, GDGWS arranged Life Skills workshop with a like-minded partner ‘Mind the Mind’, for the entire school for a duration of three days with effect from May 22, 2017.
The workshop focused on the practice of mindfulness and its value in life. For grade Nursery and KG, value based story telling was conducted where pupils made various poses of yoga like a caterpillar, egg, turtle, butterfly, tree, lion etc. while listening to the story; for classes 1 to 5, the workshop laid emphasis on calming the mind and body via yoga poses. All the pupils took keen interest and followed the instructions of the instructors.
Our aim is to give our youngsters direction, to teach them values, to allow them to explore their potential, not just in scholastic but also in co scholastic areas so that they may be able to meet all challenges of life with an inner strength and fortitude. It’s our belief that pupils who are self aware and self motivated do well in all spheres of life. These workshops are designed to spark the seed of self awareness in the minds of the youngsters allowing them to go beyond the defined limits of their thoughts.
