Recognition Day, 13th May, 2017, was a highly-anticipated day in the academic calendar of G.D Goenka World School .This Day holds an immense significance for the students as it is a milestone in the lives of their academic and extracurricular achievements. The well-attended event was graced by our distinguished chief guest Mr Fahad Khan: the founder & CEO – Technology 9 Labs, India’s first startup studio, and an enthusiastic gathering of proud parents .The event started with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and bouquet presentation.
Next was the much-awaited awards ceremony; Certificates were awarded in various categories of recognition namely, Scholastic Achievement, Music, Sports, Art, and Overall Excellence amongst some others. The anticipation on the faces of the young achievers was fairly apparent as they walked up on stage with poise and earnest to receive their awards.
The Chairman’s award recipient, Kartikeya Sundaram and Devrat Raghav need a special mention for bringing laurels to the institute. Kartikeya Sundaram secured 1st Rank with an aggregate of 96% and 9 A*. He also holds a unique record for being the world topper in ICT. Another feather in the cap of the institute was added by Devvrat Raghav, who topped by securing 41 IB Points in the session 2016 -17.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr Sandeep Singh Kathuria, DHM, followed by the national anthem and high tea for one and all present.
