On Feb 1st, a Skype session was held between the students of G.D Goenka World school and Wasatch Academy, Utah. Their program was related to community garden and food preservation while our project was about composting and urban gardening. We discussed various phases of our project and it was quite enlightening to see how similar processes can be conducted in multiple ways due to difference in the environments.
The Skype session enabled us to share our initiatives, and get to know and interact with students who share the same interests as us. While we knew about most of the techniques they talked about, there were some things which we were unaware of. While we discussed our project, we also shared our future plan of action.
Thus, the session was a great learning experience. We are looking forward to the upcoming student exchanges that will be taking place in the near future.
