On the occasion of International Book and Copyright Day 2014, UNESCO had launched an international competition of designing book covers on international themes from school students of 6-13 years from all over the world.
According to Ms. Caroline Bordoni, project manager of school programs of UNESCO, they received more than 350 drawings from the National Commissions of 27 Member States. On 5 June 2014, six drawings were selected by the juries. On 10 July, National Commissions received the list of laureates. Following the jury’s decision, two students from G.D Goenka School were selected: Vaidehi Purohit and Darsh Jain. These students would receive Medals and Certificates from UNESCO shortly.
