On April 12, 2014, the Grade XII students finally got a chance to wear their graduation gowns! But it was also a moment of tears. It was a time when friends and foes, all joined hands to celebrate their future and mark the end of their school lives.
Mr. Tom Alter, a leading light in the film industry and theatre with a passion for sports, was the Chief Guest who presided over the function. Other luminaries present were Dr. Raj Singh, Vice Chancellor, GDGU, Mr. Subabhaskaran, Director GDGWI, Dr. GD Sharma, Director Higher Education. Mr. Paul David, Director Admissions GDGWS. The Head of School and Principal, Dr. Neeta Bali, extended a formal welcome to the august gathering. The school choir provoked an emotional response from the crowd, as they sang the song ‘Graduation Tears’. This was followed by the solemn ceremony of the passing of the light conducted by Ms. Sapna Yadav, the IB Diploma Coordinator. The Valedictorian of the year was Yashvardhan Sureka, the IB Boy was Mukund Agarwal and the IB Girl was Sana Khanijo. The inspirational address by the Chief Guest enraptured one and all. This was followed by a vote of thanks and the national anthem after which everybody proceeded for lunch. The Graduation Ceremony was indeed a very emotional event as it was an amalgamation of melancholic and joyous sentiments.
