admin News & Events

Eid Milad-Un-Nabi is celebrated worldwide by Muslims as the birthday of the prophet of Islam, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is the founder of Islam. According to Islamic doctrine, he is God’s last Messenger, sent to confirm the essential teachings of monotheism preached previously by Adam, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and other prophets. He is viewed as the final prophet of God in all the main branches of Islam. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) united Arabia into a single Muslim polity and his teachings, practices, and the Quran form the basis of Islamic religious belief. Quran is comprised of revelations received by Prophet Mohammed (PBUH).

Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) was born in Mecca in Saudi Arabia. His parents died at a very age and he was brought up his paternal uncle. At the age of 43 years, Prophet started preaching and declared that he was prophet of God and proclaimed that there is only one God. Before his death, most of the Arabian Peninsula had converted to Islam.

IGCSE students at G.D Goenka World School celebrated Eid Milad-Un-Nabi on December 1st by presenting a very informative assembly on this auspicious occasion. The assembly was compared by SL Aditya and Atufa Shabnum. The assembly commenced with an Arabic prayer by 9th Grade Student -Omar Mir. The assembly continued by Nandani Kapoor with another prayer and Aanika Sharma presented the thought of the day. A short video about the Prophet (PBUH) also raised information about this special day. The students were then informed about the several teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) by Nidhi KR and Naman Akanshi. Devanshu then briefed everyone about the history of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). To lighten things up a bit, there was a dance performance by SL Aditya and Younn Luke and a special music performance by the music department. The assembly ended with a beautiful song about the Prophet.

At the end of the assembly we requested our director-principal, Dr. Neeta Bali, to come up on stage and say a few words. She wished all students and the staff on this auspicious occasion and also congratulated the entire team of grade 9 for presenting such an informative assembly. The assembly was concluded by our IGCSE ProgrammeHead , Ms. Shahnaz Banoo Butt, who shared her thoughts on the assembly.
