CS1 Night camp-1st & 2nd December, 2017

The announcement of the very first adventure camp for the Middle School Programme had me thrilled!

From the very minute I received the news till I write this; the only thing on my mind has been this camp. First the anticipation of what lies in store and now the wonderful memories I collected.

The first day of December marked the beginning of our camp. Post school hours, the camp commenced. With a jam packed evening ahead of us we changed into our selected attires and proceeded towards the venue for the treasure hunt.

As the sun set so did our activities for the day, we called it a night after many of us showcased what we are best at through the platform of the talent show. The DJ and dinner were the last formal events of the night. We proceeded to the boarding house for the reception of our beauty sleeps. To be honest, none of us really slept!

As we woke up to calls from our house parents a glimpse of the clock indicated the rise of the sun. The nature walk brought us some fresh air to start our day. After breakfast, we were briefed about the various events of the day which called for some highly focused attention, so as to ensure we don’t injure ourselves or each other. These included the advanced version of the Burma Bridge, the tug of war, the commando net and crawl, zorbing and the body zorbing fight, to name a few. With the exception of handle bars, hard as it was most of us managed to make it through the Burma Bridge successfully.

After a tiring morning we returned home to our families in the afternoon!

Out of class learning at the CS1 Night Camp on 1st and 2nd December

The first day of December marked the beginning of the first ever CS1 overnight camp. Staying away from home gave students a sense of responsibility and they also got ready to face varied challenges that were set for them., The main learning experience was in how they learnt to adjust with other students in a ‘beyond the classroom environment ‘ and manage themselves. The overnight camp was replete with adventure and recreational activities as well as a musical evening.

The camp commenced post school hours with the students being assigned their living spaces. Thereafter there was a jam packed evening lined up for them. The students changed into their selected attires and proceeded towards the venue for the treasure hunt. As the sun set so did recreational activities for the day. The students showcased what they were best at through the platform of the talent show. The DJ provided the necessary incentive for an energetic dance session which was followed by dinner. These were the last formal events of the night. Sleepy nights vanished into buzzing corridors and energy filled rooms.

The wakeup call indicated the rise of the sun, and the excited group started the day with fresh air and a hearty repast. After a delicious healthy breakfast students proceeded for the much awaited and advance version of Burma Bridge, Tug of war, Commando Net and Crawl, Zorbing and the Body Zorbing fight to name a few.

The Night Camp gave the students an experience which was filled with lots of learning, fun and frolic especially with the unbeatable time that students had of staying with friends and teachers.
