Cambridge Lower Secondary oragnised Inter-House Crayon Etching competition, their first Inter-House Event on 10th April, 2018.
Pupils were excited and ushered into the Middle School Art Room to commence their task. The competition was divided into two parts, where initially the students were required to prepare their paper with a thick layer of brightly applied oil pastels and subsequently colour entire page with black paint.
After the page turned dry, the second part of the competition was initiated by etching designs with pointed tools like colour pencils, divider, compass etc.
The topics given to all the students were ‘Dense Forest’, ‘Rangoli Design’, ‘A Portrait of my Friend’, ‘Birds and Flowers in a Garden’ or ‘A Starry Night over a City’.
It was indeed a joy to witness the tender hands move with speed to create the most amazing and beautiful artwork. The judges surely had a difficult time awarding points as all participants had truly put in their best.
The competition was indeed tough and kudos to all the artists who were able to showcase their ability to etch fantastic designs and patterns based on the topics given to them.
